Money:
Get organised
The best way to get organised is by having a clear out and having every
thing safely put away. "No I am not talking about cleaning".
If you are going through these lists properly you will have already
tackled your bills. Now you need to keep check of them. Also it`s time
to get rid of all the things that are gathering dust.
First of
all you should have receipts from any bills you have paid. Staple the
receipt to the bill and put them in a shoe box or another small box
and label it bills and receipts. Never throw bills or receipts away.
Now buy
or make a pocket to hang on your hall way wall and place all new bills
or bills that haven`t yet been paid. Don`t place other mail or unopened
mail in it. Check your bills every two days this way you know they are
there and you can`t ignore them. Don`t get behind with your payments.
Now your
bills are in order it`s time to have a clear out.
Now make
two piles. Put everything you don`t or have never used in one pile and
everything that you are paying for in installments in another pile.
You will be shocked at the amount of things that you don`t or have never
used.
The things
you don`t use or have never used are no good. Get rid of them. If you
haven`t worn something in the last six months get rid of it because
you`ll probably never wear it again. Don`t forget your make up and toiletries
they are what we usually spend the most on and use the least. Even gifts
that people have giving you that you don`t like don`t keep them for
sentimental value get rid of them. Don`t say I met use them someday
because you won`t. Now it`s time to get rid of everything. Give them
to friends, have a car boot sale or donate them charity. Have you still
got receipts for the things you have never used or worn. If you have
take them back to the shop and try and get your money back, (as long
as you haven`t had them for months.) If not give them a way as birthday,
Christmas gifts etc.. This will also save money.
Just because
you have got rid of all these doesn`t mean you have to go out and buy
more. That's how you got here in the first place.
Now make
a list of all the things that you have bought that you don`t use/wear
or that you have never used/worn and put it in your purse. Every time
you go shopping look at the list so you don`t make the same mistakes
again.
Now the
things are paying for in monthly/weekly installments: Do you really
need them? would it not be cheaper to buy them? I heard a saying the
other week "If you haven`t bought it out right, you don`t own it."
And it`s the most truest thing I have ever heard. Now add up how much
these are costing you a week/month. I bet it`s a lot. Get rid of the
things that you don`t need. You think you are saving by spreading the
payments, but you are not. There is the interest payments on top and
it`s more monthly out goings. Get rid of any catalogue's you have. They
are too tempting.
Remember
to keep receipts for every thing you buy.
